What areas do you serve?

We primarily serve Elk Grove, with limited availability in surrounding areas including Pocket/Greenhaven, Land Park, Wilton, Galt, and parts of South Sacramento. A travel fee may apply for services outside Elk Grove city limits.

Do you offer overnight pet sitting or boarding?

No. We specialize exclusively in in-home drop-in pet care. Your pets get to stay where they are most comfortable while receiving personalized care in their own home.

How long are your visits?

We offer 30, 45, and 60-minute visits depending on your pet’s needs. Our multi-day packages are designed to provide consistent care while offering the best value for clients traveling or needing ongoing support.

How often will you visit my dog while I’m away?

Our dog care packages begin at two visits per day. Additional visits can be added when needed based on your pet’s routine, age, medical needs, or activity level.

Can you customize care for my pet?

Absolutely. Every pet is different! We customize visits around your pet’s normal routine, including meals, potty breaks, walks, medication, enrichment, playtime, and lots of attention.

Will I receive updates while I’m away?

Yes! You’ll receive an update after every visit so you can relax knowing your pets have been cared for. Updates may include photos and information about meals, potty breaks, medications, behavior, and how your pet is doing.

Are you insured?

Yes. Elk Grove Pet Care is fully insured, with coverage designed specifically for professional pet care services.

Who will be caring for my pets?

Elk Grove Pet Care is a veterinary student-owned, team-based pet care company. We have a small team of experienced pet sitters and work to keep your pet’s caregivers as consistent as possible throughout your booking.

Can I request a specific visit time?

Our standard visits are completed within scheduled service windows rather than at an exact time. If your pet requires time-sensitive care, please let us know when booking so we can determine whether we can accommodate it.

Can you care for pets with medical needs?

Yes, depending on your pet’s individual needs. Our veterinary student owner personally handles or oversees many medically complex cases. Please provide complete information about medications, medical conditions, mobility concerns, or other special needs when submitting your inquiry.

Do you care for pets other than dogs and cats?

Yes! We may be able to care for small animals, reptiles, and other household pets. Tell us about everyone in your household when submitting your inquiry so we can create the right care plan.

Do you walk dogs during hot weather?

Your pet’s safety always comes first. During unsafe temperatures, outdoor exercise may be shortened or replaced with indoor play, enrichment, potty breaks, and other activities.

Do you offer meet and greets?

Yes. New clients complete a meet and greet before their first scheduled service so we can meet you and your pets, review their routine, and go over home access and care instructions.

How do I book?

Start by completing our inquiry form. Once we confirm availability and your care plan, you’ll receive your booking documents and invoice. Your reservation is confirmed once the required payment and paperwork are completed.

How far in advance should I book?

As early as possible! Weekends, school breaks, summer travel dates, and holidays can fill quickly. We recommend reaching out as soon as you know your travel dates.

Is my reservation held while I decide?

Dates are not officially reserved until your booking requirements are completed. Invoices are valid for 24 hours, after which unconfirmed dates may be released for other clients.

What happens if I need to cancel?

Payments are non-refundable. When applicable under our cancellation policy, eligible cancellations are converted to a credit toward future services. Please review your Care Agreement for complete cancellation terms.

Do you offer care for puppies?

Yes! Puppy care can be customized around potty breaks, meals, crate routines, play, enrichment, and your puppy’s current training schedule.

My pet is shy, anxious, or reactive. Can you still care for them?

Possibly! We evaluate these situations individually. Please be completely transparent about your pet’s behavior, triggers, bite history, and handling needs so we can determine whether we are the right fit and create the safest possible care plan.
